AI Investing Has a New Sweet Spot

The landscape of AI investment opportunities has evolved significantly, and I have observed a clear shift in where the real value lies.

Investment Timing

I believe the window for pure AI infrastructure plays has largely passed, with one notable exception:

Companies already established in the picks-and-shovels space.

The most promising returns will likely come from companies that:

  • Established themselves 2-3 years ago
  • Have existing customer relationships
  • Demonstrate proven market traction
  • Successfully integrated AI into their operations early

So, the real play is not in funding the next AI toolmaker.

It is in backing the established companies that have already mastered the tools.
